I was really impressed by the venue - it has a good variety of spaces we made use of, from the grandeur of the room in which the ceremony happened and the bar just outside, to the newer wing in which we had dinner and then another room again for post-dinner drinks and optional dancing. My favorite part of the site was the deck outside the dining room - really large, beautifully heated, relaxing views, intelligently surfaced, but tucked away enough it would not interfere should there have been simultaneous events in the main building. And the food was nicely done too. (Best: goat's cheese panna cotta with salad.)
It was a very satisfying wedding - a good variety of events including a quiz, nicely paced, pleasant people. I knew few of them, but we got on well and it was fantastic to see the bride and groom again. We last saw them over a year ago, when they'd just quit their jobs to spend a year traveling around the world together.
