I've been slightly weirded out by the news, in that MJ was neither young enough for his death to be SHOCKING! (and therefore, somehow, dramatically likely); nor old/frail enough
for there to be a media deathwatch in progress - I'd have been less startled in a way if Spears or Winehouse had died.

I admit my first thought was probably, “wow, that estate sale is going to look like the last scene of Citizen Kane.” This morning, however, Jackson’s death, or the rather the events around it, feel less Wellesian and more William Gibson-esque.
