Glad to hear all went well. Your lecture sounds like it was quite interesting.

Also, I had incentive to mention the Hedgehog of the Destruction of Ninevah, which is always a good thing.

!?! Why have I not encountered this before? (Probably because my hedgehog obsession began around the time that my medieval studies inclinations withered.) What a lovely depiction. In googling for it, I also learned about St. Arnulf "Hairshirts are for wusses" Villiers, who was reputed to have made himself a hedgehog-skin shirt, worn prickles-in for more mortification.

I never knew about the Hedgehog of Ninevah until I went to Amiens and photographed it. When I got home, I started wondering why there was a hedgehog there!
