The Hugo short list is out.

So that's my reading list sorted for the next few weeks.

I enjoyed little brother very much. Graveyard book is also quite delightful -- it's a little odd, though, as it carries a sense of deja vu. I think parts of it were published in short story form previously...happy reading!

I've only read The Graveyard Book of these so far. And yes, one of its chapters was previously published.

Thank you!

Neil Gaiman feels he is in august company. His LJ feed can be a very interesting insight into an author's thoughts.

Also, I am delighted that Girl Genius is up for a graphical Hugo. It is certainly my favourite of the comics I currently read, online or in print, and has a nifty steampunk setting, to boot. :)

I only follow Gaiman's blog second-hand, i.e. when anyone links to it, which is regularly. I tried following it directly for a while, years ago, but found it was adding too much to my online reading!

Girl Genius: I have the first comic and a card game based on it, but haven't followed it as its been coming out (online or in print).

I'm sure C. will be happy to see the Schlock Mercenary collection on there - that the online comic he follows most loyally.

Girl Genius has a LJ RSS feed (M pointed me at it. one day i will remember to trawl the archives).

The Graveyard Book was sweet, in a very NG way.

Fortunately, I'm already five out of five on the Best Novel nominees. So I'll try to hunt down the short fiction.

I assume that means you don't subscribe to F&SF, Asimov's, or Baen's Universe. Some of them are online - what are your usual (or specific) tactics for tracking down the rest?

I've downloaded the online ones to my iPhone, and will check back periodically for more. I've also ordered Eclipse Two from Amazon, which I'd been meaning to do anyway.
