I think the web cam is aimed towards the clock tower. I was mostly standing more to the left, about half way down the Procuratie Vecchie and later I was sitting on at a chair in the flooded piazza in front of Quadri.

On one hand, this makes me feel better - it isn't just my inability to recognize you. On the other hand, the story would've been better if you really had been where the webcam was pointing for most of the time!
