Three years ago today

Three years ago today, I landed at Heathrow. C. met me there, and we made our way back to the flat by indirect Underground means. Half the system was still closed from the bombings the previous day. My boxes hadn't arrived yet (they traveled rather expeditiously by ship), but I had moved to England.

Today, I am packing. C. flew out from City Airport for a work trip for a few days, and we are about to move. I'm going to go buy more boxes by indirect transportation means, although the system is mostly all running, so in a way, my boxes haven't arrived today either. Not yet, anyways. And I am moving within England, and still here.

Thank you! Today was just box-buying and rearranging stuff already in the house to make lots of room and clearance for the movers. The next few days will be the move. Except then we still don't lose the flat for a bit beyond that, but there's cleaning to do.

Ack! I didn't realize that you arrived the day after the bombings!

Worse, I flew out the day OF the bombings. I spent much of the day unsure whether or not to go, and then thought, there will never be more security than now.

Geez! Was that really three years ago? Wow. Still sorry you guys left, but at least I got some nice chairs out of it.

I thought of you when I saw the anniversary commemorations on the news as I was headed for the airport. I was trying to figure out how long it had been it took us a while to agree that it was three years ago. It does not seem like that long since you were in Toronto.
