It's been a rich, wonderful, tasty touristic week.

Lunch with [livejournal.com profile] ladymoonray. A walk to see the telectroscope. Dinner at Baltic with [livejournal.com profile] easterbunny, [livejournal.com profile] aca, [livejournal.com profile] haggisthesecond, and [livejournal.com profile] naxos. Lunch with an antiquarian bookseller and [livejournal.com profile] pittenweem. Productive grading sessions. The striking Chapman Brothers exhibit at the White Cube gallery with [livejournal.com profile] fjm and [livejournal.com profile] chilperic. A mildly disappointing William Curley Dessert Bar trip (due to ill and thus absent chef). Tortellini with a rich variety of cheeses. A visit to the closed Thames Barrier with [livejournal.com profile] easterbunny and [livejournal.com profile] ebonyrae in the most perfect of weather. A visit to the Sarre Windmill. An impromptu trip to see the lovely Herne Windmill. A walk beachside in the declined resort town of Herne Bay. Pork, pineapple, onion, and a spicy Indonesian Redang sauce, all stewed. Lunch at the local Gordon Ramsay pub with houseguest. Tomorrow's the BSFA's AGM.

Our visiting [livejournal.com profile] pittenweem left us this afternoon for futher travels.

I have hundreds of photos and need to clear more files off of my hard drive in order to upload them, a recently developed problem. It's not possible to have a hard drive which is too large.

I remember having that hard drive problem. v. frustrating. Now I have an external that I use for everything I'm not currently using. It also made it really easy when I got a new laptop :o)

Methinks a flickr account where you can upload lots of stuff and people can leave comments would be a really good idea. (hint hint)

We're pricing servers with backup hard drives. It's really what we need in our lives as a more versatile and redundant backup solution.

I'll consider a flickr account - does it do automatic photo resizing? That's one of the things which hampers me uploading photos. When I take them, they're a couple of meg, but for posting online, I like them to be small and speedy to load so manually resize everything which will be uploaded right now.

Flickr does do automatic resizing.
If you create a free account and let me know it is then I'll add you as a contact. Then you'll see lots of extra options to do with my pictures - including all the sizes of photo it produces: small, medium, large, _original_.
