Improv Everywhere performs a Food Court Musical! (via [livejournal.com profile] ladybird97) Life should be full of people spontaneously (or rehearsedly even) bursting into song. Improv Everywhere has also done a slew of other neat events - my other favorite so far is Frozen Grand Central.

Playmobil on Amazon: Reviews for the Playmobil Security Check Point. (via Cranky Professor)

Leonard Cohen is going on tour for the first time in 15 years. (More dates are due to be announced soon.) Relatedly, [livejournal.com profile] matociquala posts on "Hallelujah".

Edited to add: [livejournal.com profile] nou discusses in informative detail a talk she went to on Cooling the London Underground.

Leonard Cohen was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Monday. Along with Madonna, John Mellenkamp, The Dave Clark Five and Little Walter.

But the song Hallelujah leaves me cold. Maybe it's a good poen, but the tune is... dull. His 'Everybody Knows' and 'If it be Your Will' are ok with me. I think Anjani really adds a lot of musucality to his work. Good voice and musical sense there. :)

"Everybody Knows" was my first encounter with his work (via the Pump up the Volume soundtrack!) and what inspired me to learn more about his work. I really do like "Hallelujah" though - it's a tune that gets stuck in my head now and again. Its words have so many edges. It has beauty and harshness and irony.

I only have one older album of his, and don't know his more recent work with Anjani - a good reason to buy a newer album/go to a concert!

I got a near anthology of his work -
The Essential Leonard Cohen at Borders a few years ago.

That Playmobil is just hysterical - and the reviews are works of genius.

Leonard Cohen! I would fly around the world to see him live, and it looks, from that list, that I may have to. Thanks for the pointer.

HIs own website does promise more dates to be announced - hopefully the US will be included in those.

Go see him, he needs the money. A few years back while he was in a Buddhist Monastery his financial manager lost everything he had.
