"twirling around in life's regular musical numbers"

That's wonderful!!

I had no idea 7Bfor7B had come to the stage. In my family we're great fans of the movie, which has some amazing dancers (e.g. Jacques D'Amboise in his prime) among the brothers and Howard Keel doing his charisma thing and his VOICE thing so that you hardly mind the lyrics.

And how can you not like a musical that includes the line: "A man can't sleep when he sleeps with sheep"? (They did do "Lonesome Polecat", didn't they??)

The play is based on the movie, with all the original musical numbers, and supplemented by some other, less memorable ones. (Yes, "Lonesome Polecat" was there, according to the reviewers, but it's the only song I see on the list that I absolutely don't remember - perhaps it was a song for which I couldn't decipher the lyrics? A missed opportunity, clearly.)

The play version debuted in 1979... and - goodness! - there was one season of a t.v. series based on it too!
