Today's mail brought me a package from [livejournal.com profile] curtana - the exciting results of the gift meme which was circulating several weeks ago. It may or may not be intended as a necklace, but it's quite robust and versatile enough to be used as a hair decoration or something bright to dangle from a belt over a long skirt. And even better, it's in purple and orange, one of my favorite color combinations!

Thank you so much!

You're welcome! I intended it as a hair decoration, so I hope it works in that capacity. I was a bit worried the ribbon might prove too slippery, though. I hope that doesn't turn out to be a problem :)

I can always attach it to hair clips or barettes if the ribbon's too slippery.

Or of course, you're free to use it as anything else you can think of! :)

I'm embarassed to say that it's only after your comment last night that I realized they were most likely intended as cute little horns, with the ribbon to blend with my hair. Which is adorable! I don't know how well they'll stay upright though - but it doesn't matter, since it's a versatile and slightly abstract wearable confection of many possible purposes.

This is totally off topic, but this morning as I was trying to stay in bed a little longer I drifted off into dreamland and in my dream I was checking lj (ugh!) and you had posted that someone had asked you to contribute to some book on technology/science in Ovid! Just as I was waking up I was confused as to whether you wrote that you were asked to contribute to a book on the subject or whether it was a job offer in that area ... but either way, it was pretty amusing. Somehow your post yesterday fused with my dissertation topic ;-)

I would love to do a piece on sci/tech in Ovid! What a great topic. (Although I'm sure agriculture in Ovid has already been exhausted.) My thanks to your subconscious.
