In an extraordinary fit of effeciency, the boiler is now repaired and the washing machine replaced. I'm a big fan of hot and cold running water - and it's so nice to it, and a fully-functional way of cleaning clothing, all without fear of flooding the rest of the building. And there's been a bit of a history of boilers flooding the building over the last year. I'm glad this one won't.

Inputting fiddly bits of editorial notes is a fine and productive task to do while plumbers and engineers bustle about.
