From yesterday's Amazon email: "We've noticed that customers who have purchased books by Alighieri Dante have also ordered The Divine Comedy (Everyman's Library Classics S.) by Giovanni Boccaccio."

Everyone was writing them, you know. All the rage in the fourteenth century.

He was definitely trying to out-Comedy the Comedy in the De Casibus. How I wish that this were not my first reaction; grad school has ruined me for life.

I still remember amazon's initial foray into selling clothing. I swear this is a true story. One day I was ordering some boring financial math type book (call it Book X), and they were obviously trying to publicise the clothing business, because my shopping cart came up with something like this:
