There is little in life so satisfying as having one's books finally in order (with nearly enough bookshelf space for the most necessary of them)...
except for the satisfaction of a truly fabulous jar of Apple and Elderflower Chutney -
and except for the very great pleasure of a leisurely wander around the Borough Market in delightful company of
fjm,
miramon, and
matociquala (who offered to send me popcorn if I should become desperate for sources of it!).
On Monday, I ran out of A4 printing paper.
On Tuesday, I found there were no stationers in Canary Wharf, so no printing paper could be purchased there.
On Wednesday, I found that the company from which I was mail ordering printing ink charged for postage purely based on weight - so paper wasn't worth ordering from them.
On Thursday, I found that all the stationers in the City close at 6pm - and I arrived there around 6:15.
On Friday, I went to the Borough Market and bought A4 printing paper. (Well... across the street from it.)

Still, it was a charming offer.

me neither.
I'm addicted to yeast powder on it. If that's to your taste, make sure you buy "debittered" yeast powder from HB (I can't get the flakes tho which is what I really like)

I acquired the taste while at a Quaker college in 1994. Popcorn with yeast flakes was about as exciting as snack food got. Unless you hankered after cottage cheese.

I knew yeast was used in brewing, but it never occurred to me what kind of yeast. Clearly I should know more about yeast - for history of brewing and baking reasons, if nothing else.

Up until this minute, I hadn't a clue where my nearest Sainsbury's was. Now I do - and I also now know why I didn't know - none of the closest five are the least bit convenient for me. But I'm sure there's a centrally-located one which shall be.
I can see why I was scared off of the Staples online site - it claims it's for business customers only. Do they offer free shipping over X pounds or other such reasonable way of ordering cheap-and-heavy supplies?

Waitrose Food and Home in Canary Wharf may have A4 printing paper; I'm not sure. I'll look next time I'm there, I know there is some sort of stationery section upstairs and also a bit that has electronics and computer accessories, so there's a good chance. Somewhere like Dixons might also, and there is a Tesco Metro floating around somewhere which might have it. ASDA at Crossharbour definitely does, but that might be a bit further than you wanted to go.

I suspected the ASDA would stock it, but it didn't even occur to me to look at the Waitrose or Tesco - didn't seem their style.
