It was a particularly appropriate night on which to bring D-the-houseguest along for a visit; appropriate even more so since it's thanks to the Toronto First Thursday group that we know him in the first place. By default, it's not referred to as "First Thursday" here in London. It's called "the Tun", e.g. "Are you going to the Tun this week?" The One Tun was the name of a pub which hosted the meet way back when.
