I'm giving a seminar for the Centre for the History of Science, Technology, and Medicine at Imperial College a week from Thursday, on January 26th, at 4:30 pm in one of the Seminar and Learning Centre rooms in the Sherfield Building. The talk is called "Dials and Deities: the Faces of Time in the Renaissance". You're welcome to attend.

The British Library is now pencils only in all of its reading rooms, as of this month. It's a good thing I had my computer with me yesterday, or else I would have had to go shopping.

Good luck to all of you U of T students defending in the next few weeks! Looking at the SGS defense calendar, I see that DF (from CMS at U of T) was scheduled to defend this past Friday. Any word on how it went from anyone?

Sounds very cool! Wish I could hear it, but alas ... wrong part of the world ...

As an alumna of Imperial, please give my regards to my old alma mater. :) I'd love to go, but London is a bit of a long commute these days!

Of course! I'm astonished by how many people I know went to Imperial - I know it's a big university - but still...

I did hear through the grapevine that T.E. from our dept. defended successfully yesterday. Congrats to him!
