Epiphany

Happy Twelfth Day of Christmas! I hope the Befana brought you all candy this morning. She didn't make it to me today, but I ate chocolate in her honor anyways. If not sweets, perhaps you encountered twelve lords a-leaping instead?

Since we've hardly travelled at all lately, we're off north for the weekend.

They made it!!

We didn't put up the nativity set this year, because we were afraid the cat would knock it over and break it while we were travelling, but when we DO set it up, we set the kings up far away from the manger, and move them closer every night before bed. They finally get to the baby Jesus on January 6th to give Him His presents.

No lords-a-leaping, though. Maybe they're being very stealthy about it, leaping very quietly where I can't see or hear them. I'll go check John's office.

A very special sweet - torta - a large crisp almonda nougat cake from Germany - was our twelfth night treat. Who is Befana?

hello

Befana did not bring me any candy AGAIN this year! This is the last straw. She's off my Christmas card list.
