Happy American Thanksgiving!

I'm not celebrating properly until Saturday, but in the meantime I'm celebrating a brief email from my advisor reporting a "favorable response" from my external assessor! I'm spending the evening with an American too, at a pub once frequented by sailors on boats trading with America. C.'s plane has landed from Frankfurt (two trips to Germany in one week!) and I'll be spending tomorrow at the Good Food show, the UK's largest food show, to the best of my knowledge.

I spent my day in the basement of the British Museum, playing with recreation astrolabes and listening to talks about the history of measurement. It was good.
