We're going to the Proms!*
Free tea!**
Books!***
* We have tickets for tonight's Proms concert, a Tchaikovsky/Shostakovich/Prokofiev fest. It's the first time going for both of us.
** This month's IMBB theme is Tea - and the date is July 31st, if you care to participate. In honor of the event, Adagio Teas is offering free tea samples to IMBB participants and food bloggers in the U.S. and Canada. If you're interested, the details are here.
*** I spent some time in what looks to be Canary Wharf's only bookstore today, encouraged by a 5 pounds off voucher we'd acquired thanks to the HP book. It's a smaller bookstore, but the selection is rather better than I initially thought a few months back. I was pleased to see a good selection of Rough Guides and Tokyopop manga translations. The Diana Wynne Jones selection was, however, rather slim. I went home with the Rough Guide to Scotland (Glasgow ahoy!), the newest Jasper Fforde novel, and a trial copy of Time Out.

*blink*
There's a new Fforde out? Drats, I new there was a site I'd not checked in with recently.

Re: *blink*
He held a rough straw poll for the name of the next book at the Bristol signing last year (or was it the year before?) and I think it was a toss-up between "The Big Over Easy" and "The Last Eggsit To Swindon"
(no subject)
A little further on the DLR, there's an Ottakar's bookstore in Greenwich which is pretty good, lots of bookstores that sell remaindered books cheap (Booktime etc) and a couple of used bookstores hanging on by the skin of their teeth.
