On my LJ friendslist of birthdays, I have one five-in-a-row sequence. Adding my own birthday to the sequence, this makes a six-in-a-row set of birthdays, beginning and ending with a double. If there was an LJ birthday bingo game, surely this would net me some sort of prize.

In order, from July 25th to the 30th: [livejournal.com profile] owlfish and [livejournal.com profile] wibblepot's Josie, [livejournal.com profile] retsuko, [livejournal.com profile] fjm, [livejournal.com profile] bromith, [livejournal.com profile] suzuno, and [livejournal.com profile] carmen_sandiego and [livejournal.com profile] snowdrifted.

Happy birthday to all of us!

Happy Birthday, Shana! I may not be in London but at least I'm in the same kingdom. I promise I'll get to London to see you soon. And I'll bring your books, too. I just finished Fforde's new book. It's great. Many happy returns of the day!

Thank you! I'm looking forward to reading The Big Easy on the train up to Glasgow next week. (I'm going for about five days.) I'd love to see you somewhen soon.

It's beautiful! And you made it just for me. And it even has an hourglass in it!

I'm so glad! Of course it had to have an hourglass for you. :))

An impromptu update on your things we have adopted:
- The fans have taken up their posts in the anti-heatwave defense and are doing nicely
- I'm making my way through the herbal teas and am developing a taste for them in the evenings
- The fountain isn't in use yet but is tucked away in a good spot and waiting for the right opportunity (I keep joking I'll put it in my carrell)
- Those little Italian ice-cube wrapper things? They actually work! Very well. We're going to make a bunch pre-party tonight.

Wow! I would think so. The best I've been able to do is three, and they're not all LJ users.

We're special!

Reading your posts on the subject, I hadn't realized how rare her fans were - or how relatively few her buyers. Thanks for the reminder - I'll track down a copy of Cleopatra 7.2. Looking over her website is rather exciting - there are several of her books I've not read and now I can look forward to reading them!

P.S. You're the first person I've run into from DM, WA! I'm from DM, IA.

well, most of her fans buy used, so...I think that's what it was.
