[livejournal.com profile] easterbunny is one clever rabbit. Thanks to her good advice, over the past 24 hours, I've managed to rid myself of several awkward-but-small items of furniture by leaving them on the curb, one at a time, with a sign labelled "Free" on them.

After a spate of cancellations yesterday, I have a slew of people coming today to consider relieving me of furniture. [livejournal.com profile] double0hilly, [livejournal.com profile] ballincollig, and B.A. have already been exceedingly helpful on that front in the past few hours.

Despite the endless random little things to be dealt with, this has been a fairly relaxing moving process so far. I've never had most of my boxes packed and gone a week before the move was actually going to happen. (Most of my moves have involved a stressful and sleepless final 48 hours.) I've had time to be happily social, if not the concentration for work or more passive entertainments like move-going. Most of my problems at the moment can be solved by the use of trash bags or mailing packages to all the corners of the world. Or leaving them on the curb, one at a time, with a sign labelled "Free" on them.

D. was expressing interest in some of your things last night (desk, bookshelves), but I'm guessing that he waited too long to express that interest to you...

Actually, no. If we're talking about the same D., I think he'll be stopping by sometime in the next hour. As long as I still have the furniture, it is not too late!

He didn't have space to store a desk that big, but he took all the remaining bookshelves at least!

All the bookshelves have homes now.

Of course, this still leaves me with the big and awkward objects...

Glad you like them!

I'm so thrilled that worked for you! May 30th used to be the magical fairy evening in any 10 blocks' direction from Tulane University. Leave a couch on the sidewalk on May 30th, and by June 1st (the day all student apartment leases turned over) the couches would be installed in a new and happy home.

(God forbid that it'd have rained the previous evening.)
