The trip to Chicago was a success on all counts: the city was lovely, [livejournal.com profile] suffisaunce was wonderful company, and, most importantly of all, I have my UK visa now: Indefinite Leave to Remain.

Of course I'll tell you a great deal more about the trip in the near future. We ate out at a certain well-known restaurant there after all...

I figure if I worry and fret enough, everything will turn out well. Something like that.

They complimented me on how well documented my application was! They were impressed!

And polite and efficient as well.

I blame sleep deprivation for all loopiness. Anyways, being an inherently silly person myself, loopiness seems like a fairly normal state of being to me. It was fun!

I think the gigantic octopus was an excellent omen.

My brain fingers are trying to picture an octopus impersonating a windmill. I blame the sun. I slept a lot yesterday *g*

I can completely picture that. Except that the motive power would probably be ocean currents, not the wind, for the sake of the octopus' health and sanity. And that's how the Atlanteans ground grain to make bread.

Hah. I knew I wouldn't be disappointed if I commented :-D

Next challenging question: how do Atlanteans grow grain? Or do they trade for it with surface dwellers?

And can you temper wine with water when water is all around you?

I am SO glad to have this hurdle dealt with. It was a rather crucial prerequisite for much of the rest of my near future plans. And further in the future plans too.
