Never seen provalone here and a brief search suggests that you're out of luck finding it in a supermarket. Methinks Italian delis (of which there are many) are probably the way forward, although Borough Market may be able to provide.

The tart turned out nicely with a mild Irish cheddar replacing the provolone, so it was no real loss this time around. Still, one of these days I might have urgent provolone-buying needs in London, so it's good to be prepared. Thanks for the suggestions.
