Books!

The box of books I ordered last week arrived at just the right time: my editing spirits were lagging in the final stretch of editing the last chapter. And then my box arrived to perk me up and give me reading to look forward to. The books are a combination of food literature and academic. (Finally! My own copy of the Psychomachia and Seznac's Survival of the Pagan Gods!)

Current frustration: there are histories of saddles and bridles and bits and all sorts of other horse-managing equipment out there. There's practically nothing on spurs, or, if there is, I can't find it.

I buy lots of Playmobil (which I do anyways), and then ask Colin nicely if he'll take photos of them. It takes him about a 40 minute photo shoot per icon. Sometimes longer. The quality of my icons is entirely the products of Colin's lighting, rearranging, and digital photo skills. I throw in initial concept and Playmobil buying, he does all the hard work.
