- There's an innovative cork recycling program in Ontario run by Girl Guides. Despite knowing people involved in Girl Guides and well as many fans of wine, it took a New York-based food blogger to inform me of this program.
- Playmobil's 2005 line includes a butcher shop! and a bakery! And dinosaurs, including one hatching from an egg!
- For those of you who regret ever having heard of Bananaphone, there are people out there in the world busily studying how tunes get stuck in your head.
- I'm impatient with editing, but I'm nearly halfway done marking up my printed-out chapters in red ink. Thus far, the sandglasses chapter is easily the best-written. It's also the second longest chapter - I hypothesize that I had the most to say on the subject because there's the least existing scholarship on the subject, compared to the other objects I've been studying. I could barely scrape together 25 pages on clocks, despite the surfeit of authoritative publications on the subject.

Yeah, I totally did know about that and just plain haven't mentioned it ;)
Although, to be fair, we're really more of an implementer than the people running the program. We collect the corks, give 'em back to the vintners, and even get money for it in return! Coolness!
