Amusement and astonishment

The amusing is a particular gem of a PhD comic.

The astonishing: "I found myself sitting in a kitchen which seemed more suited to open heart surgery than a cosy chat about feeding routines and nappy rash." From an article on Swiss pre-house sale hygiene inspections.

My husband would really appreciate that comic. That strip didn't exist when I was in Dissertation Hell (early-mid 1990s), but it might have helped. A little.
