It's been a week of entirely too many twists and turns, but finally - Colin has a place to live in London! And therefore I do too!

Update: Via my mother, a picture of the neighborhood - although probably not how it still looks today.

Ionia. The name meant nothing to me until last week. It's near Limehouse.

Hooray!
*hums "Rule Britannia" softly, but with gusto*

Cool! I feel a need for a flat warming somewhere in the near future then ;-)

I passed that on to Colin - he thought you had a good point there.

Well... at least an address that will be good for a minimum of 6 months, and at least a year in all, but where we could stay on indefinitely if we really wanted. But your version of it sounds better.

that's great!!! I'm currently trying to look into all my possiblities. sadly, everyone is telling me the same thing really, stay in dorms! aaahhh, i'm so sick of dorms, but the only other option is a shared house and people are telling me not to do that unless your going into it with a group of people you trust. And i don't know anyone planning to stay on.

It's probably worth at least checking the local rental market out but I suspect it'll be rather more pricy than dorm costs. I know what you mean. By the time I made it to Toronto, I was tired of living my life in dorms. Good luck!

yeah, the accomodation office has a site where they have outside listings, but it's pretty high. I think even a shoebox like Geni's would cost my a fortune! I wish I could find a shoebox to live in, but there aren't a lot of apt buildings around here.

It might not look like much of the neighborhood he was looking for from the outside, but thanks to you, it'll be a neighborhood.

I'm so glad the suspense and incompetency of dealing with the reference-checking agency is over! Finding the place proved the easiest part.

It's nice to have a place to settle into. And near all your friends, too!
