The Niagara Icewine Festival is on through January 23rd all over the Niagara escarpment.
Winterlicious is on through February 10th, featuring $20 and $30 lunches and diners at something like 120 major restaurants around Toronto, in addition to various other food-related events.
If you're going to be in Tuscany on the 28-29th of January, check out Cioccolosità, an all-chocolate festival in Monsummano Terme.
Up in Lancashire, Northcote Manor will be holding its annual Food and Wine Festival from January 24th to February 30th, featuring a lineup of guest chefs.
Back in Toronto, Clafouti will be closed for vacation until February 8th.

I would love to go, but the dinner and fancier food events are all sold out, which leaves the weekend open sampling events that I could attend next weekend or - if I had a car and access to a designated driver or bus tour - I could tour the vineyards which have new icewines for tasting. Unfortunately, I only just realized this was happening - definitely worth planning ahead on for some other time though!

When Geni and I were driving to Toronto, once we got into canada there were signs for wineries at for every exit. I so have to visit them someday.

I was looking through the list of restaurants that are participating in Winterlicious before the foodie fest started, and hearily anticipating same. Perhaps you and John and I can take in a lunch or dinner or two?

I would love to! My schedule is basically entirely free, as long as I don't do too much too many times in a row - I'm trying to space out social interaction to be about every other day or so, and for only part of the day. The downside to booking late (since booking effectively started on Tuesday) is that all the spots at the places most in demand (Truffles, 360, The Fifth) will have been taken, but there should still be lots of spots left at other restaurants. I've been wanting to try Pangaea, for example. If we're going, we need to book asap. I'm game.

I don't have ANY evening plans lined up yet this week (everything is on a "We'll get together... sometime" kind of schedule). Set up anything you'd like, and I'll make sure we can work around it. Just call our place or e-mail me when you've made arrangements-- you can call any old time, because John is actually here to take a message. You can book stuff for three, or just for the two of us girls if that's easier: he says he's fine either way.

What is your schedule like for next week and the week after? I think we can book Winterlicious tickets for about that long, and the more days we have to choose from, the more likely we are to get in!

Right now my only plans that have a time attached to them involve moving books out of PIMS library for their book sale, and that will be on Saturday. Otherwise, as I said, everything is work-aroundable right now.
