I am spending more time adding history of food books to my growing bibliography on the subject than I am actually reading any books today. I meant to approach the whole subject of reading about food for the fun of it, with no intent of developing a research plan around it, yet my deeply-ingrained academic habits lead me to an annotated bibliography which surveys the major literature on the topic rather than just picking up a few assorted books and having a read of them. I'm working my way through the BBC Good Food magazines lying around and the household cookbook collection.

Andrew and Katrin arrive from Germany today, and we're off to York tomorrow for a reunion with [livejournal.com profile] lazyknight, [livejournal.com profile] evieb, and [livejournal.com profile] stonecircle, among others.

I would be very interested in that bibliography. I have a few interesting works on the subject here in fact.
