owlfish at 12:44am on 15/08/2002Why yes, the fifteenth century was indeed interesting, as I today learned from the BBC's website. In an otherwise perfectly good article on a fifteenth-century boat being hurriedly excavated in Newport (UK), was this little tidbit:

Wood used in the ship is variously dated between 1420-69, which Mr Barker said is a fascinating period in history.
