I saw a lovely little movie at the movie theater tonight called Boundin'. I'm sure a great many of you have already seen it, although you failed to mention it. The rest of you, especially [livejournal.com profile] irvinl ought to - but in the meantime, you can watch the sneak peek on Pixar's own website. It made me happy.

Yes, its very good. However when suddenly faced with the enormity that is 'The Incredibles' all such thoughts quickly go out the window.

it was so cool! I was wondering what came first, the sheep or the words. had to be the poem first, I guess. It was Dr. Suess with a lot more syllables.

incredibles - maybe I am a bit over-sensitive to red/blue switches right now, but, the switch in the superhero uniforms...

I saw The Incredibles a couple of weeks ago, and spent a lot of it thinking, "you know, this is a better version of Watchmen than the Watchmen movie will be (if they ever do it that is)."

Not that it's an exact parallel, but a lot of the same themes and images are there -- the tension between one's mundane and costumed identities, the banning of superheroes by the government, a madman on a private island, creating the perfect menace to propagate his agenda....even the reason why capes are a bad idea.....

I knew that The Watchmen sounded vaguely familiar, but it took reading an article about the prospect of it being made into a movie for me to know why. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if the parallels were exactly why the studio thinks it's feasible.
