Visa

My renewed student visa arrived in the mail today at long last! I have paperwork saying I'm legal to still be in Canada!

And it doesn't even specify my university - it says it's valid at any Canadian university - which in theory implies I could hop schools, as long as I was pursuing the same degree - not that I have any intention of doing so at this stage in my program!

Hurrah! You're not an illegal alien! Or whatever it is we call people like that in Canada.

Happily, I would only have been in danger of that if I hadn't sent my paperwork off in time, back in August. According to the nice people at the ISC, even without the paperwork in hand, I was legal the entire time - I had "implied status" because they received the paperwork before my current visa expired.

Still, I feel much more comfortable having some tangible proof that I've a right to be here!
