Editing

I have been editing all week, but not my own work. No, I cheerily volunteered over the course of the past several months to edit many different peoples' writings, and then they all needed doing this week. I hope - I really, really hope - that I have some skill in editing, at least editing for other people, given the number of people on which I am inflicting my feedback. I have never been much good, alas, at editing my own work: I already know what I've written so I have trouble seeing what I actually did write.

So far this week, I've marked up three abstracts and nine essays, with another six essays to go by tomorrow.

Sometimes when Myrtis tears things up and shreds them with glee, we say that in a former life she must have been an editor.
