For all of you once-SSFFS folks:

Any of you get John Watson's open email to the Arisia lists? It's the same message which is currently posted on the [livejournal.com profile] ssffs LJ community, which currently only [livejournal.com profile] flos_campi obviously follows, of those of you I'm in touch with. There's a lack of dates and details, but, out of curiousity, would any of you consider going to a SSFFS-specific reunion?

Yeah sure, but only if it didn't involve any of the rest of Smith :> (Didn't know there was such a community, thanks for pointing it out.)

John Watson is still around? No, scratch that, of course he is. I have to say, I don't think the idea of a SSFFS-specific reunion appeals to me all that much (even as an ex-president) but if something were happening around the normal reunion, I'd probably stick my head in.

I actually got the same info from [livejournal.com profile] morganminstrel last night and passed it on to one of the founding members (who I met through a mailing list several years back). Provided that it's next year when I've got some vacation time again, I think it would be fun. It's been entirely too long since I've been back to campus or seen most of my SSFFS friends. I know at some point there were murmurings about doing something like this during 5Con (which would be much fun).

If I were still on the East Coast I would.
Unfortunately, costs of travel between there and here are prohibitive given our current budget.
I blew all my extras on my ticket to Winnie's wedding!

It would depend on who else was going. Is that horrible or what? Also if there was gaming involved that would be huge for me because I am currnetly without a group and jonsing for gaming. So weird.

That's largely why I asked. If it were an excuse for me to see many of my friends I haven't in a long time, I'd have a greater incentive to go. It's not a reunion year for me, and since I'll be in MA next month, I doubt I'd otherwise be visiting the state any time again in the next year. I understand the gaming urges - I'm playing in a Dark Ages campaign with a bunch of medievalists now in part because it might well be my last opportunity to do so, and in part because I hadn't in ages.

At this point in my life, it would have to coincide with a major money expenditure and other major trip--I couldn't go just for that. :( Such is the life of the recently graduated. Love the idea, though.
