That exhibit sounds fantastically strange--did you get pictures of you playing on it?

As to the iPod bit, this is definitely why public awareness needs to be raised concerning the erosion of fair use that accompanies DRM. One livejournal anecdote at a time ;)

No pictures of us, but you can see some of the DMAC staff playing ping-pond here and get the right idea. Admittedly, we were playing during an opening, so there were snacks and drinks available, plus the ping pong ball would occasionally roll into the main gallery or bounce off some unaware bystander's head now and again. We played off of the walls and the floor - anything, really, so long as it wasn't in the pond.

DRM - thank you, that was the acronym I couldn't think of.
