If you're in Toronto and even vaguely interested in or curious about medieval drama, go see the Poculi Ludique Society present the Chester Nativity play this week or next. My friend Lada, an up-and-coming Toronto actress, plays Mary!
Poculi Ludique Societas presents:
The Chester Play of the Shepherds
Drawn from the Chester Cycle, this story of the shepherds whose lives
are transformed by the miracle of Christ's birth brings together the
best of medieval drama and holiday spirits with angelic music, beautiful
costumes and reverence tempered by an earthy humour. Directed by Julie
Florio.
November 28 & 29 at 8:00 p.m.
November 29 & 30 at 2:00 p.m.
December 4, 5 & 6 at 8:00 p.m.
December 6 & 7 at 2:00 p.m.
Emmanuel College Room 119
75 Queen's Park Crescent East
Tickets $15 / $10 students and seniors
For reservations, call (416) 978-5096 or e-mail plspls@chass.utoronto.ca
