Clocks are a somewhat arbitrary invention, with their conflated division into Babylonian and equal hours, the whole concept of clockwise and so on. Thanks to a Canadian, we have time zones, and thanks to increasingly international agreement, we have daylight savings time. For once, Europe, the US, and Canada are even changing the clocks on the same weekend.

Shortly after waking up, I realized I hadn't slept the morning away. It was an hour earlier than my clocks said it was, and all thanks to general human and governmental agreements, not the dictates of the seasons and stars at all.
