On the feeding issue - if you noticed, they're all sitting around drinking blood out of fancy glasses all the time at the manor.

Selene also mentions that they use cloned blood to feed and you see plasma packs in fridges a couple of times.

Still, they didn't make that aspect very clear, you had to be paying really close attention.

I liked a lot of this movie, it dealt with some really interesting concepts and approach to vampirism/lycanthropy that was new to me.

I know what you mean about not being particularly drawn to any of the main characters though, there wasn't really anyone likable except Lucien and we wind up spending half the movie thinking he's the bad guy ...
