We hosted a party last night. The weather was forecast to be lovely, the moon was full, and it looked like it would likely be our last chance at a deck party before spring. The food worked out about right, including two delectable tarts from Queen of Tarts (one was chocolate chipotle, the other apricot frangipan). The alcohol on the other hand... I think our guests brought more than they consumed. We have 25 bottles in the refrigerator of beer, coolers, and cider. At least it keeps.

Did I read that right?

(I'm sure it's good and tasty, but the combination is...until now, unthinkable.)

Yes, indeed, you read that correctly. It's a lovely tart indeed, very ganache-like. It takes richly of chocolate, but also of spice. It's not very spicy - it's the flavor, not the burn, which comes through in it.

I would be more than willing to help you with that predicament.

You're welcome anytime.

I'm sure not drinking the beer. I don't drink beer. At least it's my very favorite kind of cider we have at least 5 bottles of.

I'm sure C is mortified at the thought of having to drink more beer...

One of the local pubs has started stocking bottles of Festivity -- a lovely, warming rum porter, ideal for an autumnal evening...
