As seen in a Queen Street store front yesterday...

"New patients and Emergencies always welcome."

I'm reminded of the sign on a nearby auto-repair place - 'we make friends by accident'.

For some reason the catchphrase on the side of another auto-repair place (ther are lot's of them around here) has been written in handwriting style. Unfortunately it makes it easy to read what's written as 'sewing Kitsilano since XXX' instead of 'serving Kitsilano since XXX).

/me scratches his head. I've thought about this one all day and still don't 'get it'. Is there some significance to the location, Queen Street?

No, no, the location was just context for people who know Toronto. It's the phrase "Emergencies always welcome" which I found disturbing.

Emergencies aren't generally the sort of thing most people look forward to.

Ah! Ok.. I was thinking it was either a street loaded with beauty care shops or perhaps the main entrance to the emergency room of a hospital. :)

Well.. actually.. now that you mention it. Queen Street is a rather chic neighborhood with trendy clothing stores and be-seen-at bars. Maybe that's part of the problem...
