So close, so far.

I'm finished editing the thesis! By rights, this should mean I really am done. But I just took a look at the thesis guidelines for submitting final copies... and I don't have a table of contents, an abstract, my formatting's not quite perfect... and so on. In other words, yes, I can finish it today, including all those little details. But no, I won't have it in at school, submitted and out of the way by 4pm. Oh well. But I'm still planning on making it really, truly done today in every other respect.

Good for you! I remember how excited I was the day I finished the last details on my portfolio for my MS. Be sure to celebrate!

Thank you! The perverse bit is that, except for submitting the paper copy, this thesis was already approved by my advisor and department a year and a half ago and I already have the degree for which it was submitted in rougher form in-hand. So it's all very anti-climactic going back and polishing the thing off now. And embarassing, seeing just how rough and mispelled/grammar-free bits and pieces of it were before I started cleaning it all up the other week. But it's nearly REALLY done now!

wow, lucky you. I had to have mine in its final as-perfect-as-possible shape before I submitted it for my MA defense... I had no idea some schools let you get away with not doing that!
