Based on the reviews, I thought I should wait until this one came out on video. But then I didn't have a great day, wanted a few hours of escapism, and of the movies I was considering, this one had the most conveniently early starting time, so I went with it. It was so much better than what I was expecting from all the mediocre reviews I'd read. This doesn't mean it was an outstanding movie by any stretch of the imagination, but it was about what I needed.

I watched Legally Blonde (the first one) several weeks ago on DVD and liked it. In fact, it was while trying to play the same rental DVD for C. that all my computer's ailments came to a head, so he never saw it. The second one follows the pacing and event-types of the first fairly closely, but in a substantially different setting, so while an unobtrusive bit of my mind was observing what various major events were paralleling in the first, I wasn't bothered by it. I don't like what they've done with Paulette in movie 2 though. She had a much better storyline and more reasonable lines in the first movie.

I must admit I like the first one as well. I was a little worried when I saw the posters for the second appear in the cinemas but I might just reserve my judgment now and go see it.

Its one of those Happy Movies where you don't have to think and can just sit back and enjoy. Brightens up the end of a crap day type of thing.

Cheers

Exactly.

I'm glad you liked the first one too! The second features a certain proportion of education in the way the US goverment operates, but it's not heavy-handed at least.

The more I think about it, the more I didn't like the hand-clapping scene either. If they were going to bother doing it, surely the script writers could at least have come up with a more clever chant to say with it.
