The bad news is that the leading growth of the clematis has broken. Luckily, there's a smaller leader growing out of the bottom, so all is not lost. Everything else seems to be thriving, thanks to, or in spite of, all the rain. The scotch moss hasn't suffered from whatever was trying to dig under it the other day, and, with the exception of the problematic honeysuckle, everything else has put on a growth spurt in the past few days.

So far, the raccoons don't seem to have come back.

As I said before, clematis is pretty tough. As long as there's a functional leaf on there somewhere, it should pull through. Even I can't kill clematis, and I am the Goddess of Horrible Plant Death.

That would probably make me the God of Defoliation then -- my claim to fame is managing to kill a spider plant... The one plant that seems able to survive me is my pet dragon tree, Scorch.

I really like the idea of a [livejournal.com profile] lazyknight and his dragon tree Scorch.
