I have the job. I'll be teaching a course this fall for my department, one right in my area. I officially heard yesterday.

I'm both excited and nervous. I've had TAships before, but never an instructorship. I've never been the one ultimately responsible for student grades. Also, I know this means I will accomplish practically nothing dissertation-wise this fall, so it's extra-important that I write as much as I can this summer, in addition to preparing for the course.

Congrats!!! I am certain that you'll do a marvelous job--if there's anything I've learned from grading for three student instructors, it's that enthusiasm for the subject goes a VERY very long way to winning over students, as does getting *them* involved as much as possible.

yay job :)

YAYYY! Go you!
That is great news. It sounds like it will be hard work but I've sure the students will love you and the experience will be so valuable.

Great news!

Sometimes having something good happen can give you an extra dose of "oomph!". Maybe that will happen this summer: you'll have a brief oomph-value-added period because you got the job.

Here's hoping it all works out well, and doesn't tie you in knots. I prefer a knot-free owlfish, myself...
