The Lion King really is coming to an end in Toronto, as of September 28th. Touristic SARS worries killed off enough travel to the city that they can't keep it up.
A friend of mine isn't even coming back up for his graduation, since his mother is worried about the situation. There are so few cases though, city-wide, that I'm still not worried about living here. The points of disease transfer this week were a nursing home and a hospital in North York. Like the vast majority of people in this city, I've been to neither place.
Perhaps everyone will come to WorldCon to make up for avoiding Toronto now?

WorldCon
I appreciate the thought though!

SARs advantage for WorldCon
SF fan: after all, SARs is rumoured to be from
Outer Space! And even if it isn't, what better
way to visit a post-apocalyptic (and apocryphal!)
bio-hazard Sci-Fi future!
But seriously folks: if you're not in the local
health care system then there's really no effect.
Although I am truly bummed out about this since
I have a *really* sick friend in the hospital
right now and visiting is severely restricted.
Some people can't even visit dying relatives.
