I followed the Joy of Cooking apple sauce directions for a sauce to go with the stuffed pork loin I bought at Bruno's today. Golden Delicious apples, with some butter and brandy, and a bit of lemon juice. It was incredibly good. I need to make more in the near future so I can keep eating it. Thanks to this shopping trip, I also now have a kitchen full of particularly nice food products, including extra-nice cheeses, Amaretti cookies, and both dried cherries and Ghirardelli chocolate chips for Spumoni-making. I also found more of my favorite lemon-ginger tea (Twinings), and some lovely, large portobello mushrooms.

Speaking of food, did anyone take advantage of Baskin-Robbin's free ice cream today?

Apples go SO well with pork. Yum yum.

I just bought a jar of -- don't laugh!-- Stonewall Kitchen's Roasted Garlic and Onion jam. It scrummy delicious stuff. On slices of toaste baguette with some warm brie...
