Are there companies out there which do Print-on-Demand hardbacks? Or are they all paperbacks?

I have never been given options when ordering PoD books, but I haven't ordered all that many either.

I've seen Blurb.com and Lulu.com hardbacks come into the library, for bachelor's theses. This is the PoD subset of "books you created yourself", though.

Lulu does, and the results don't look too bad (glue bound rather than saddle stitched, though).

I think the Verlag books come in hardbound? At least, the ones I have actually seen in the flesh, so to speak. Not sure if there are more than one level of editing there, though, because some of those were definitely edited, while the two girls who approached me through FB make me think there are some dodgy things out there.
