The production of Jenufa was wonderful. I'll write up a proper review of it later when I have more time. Suffice to say for now, I enjoyed it, the composer doesn't write hummable pieces, but he writes very appropriate ones. The set was stark but effective, with good use of lighting, and there were a few particularly wonderful singers. The psychological elements were particularly interesting - but more on that later.

I'm coming down with a cold, but I'm certainly not unwell enough not to be functional today. I've no games planned for this week's tutorial - we can't play them every week! I've another opera tonight, so it's a full day, but hopefully not an overwhelming one since I don't want to be any more ill than I already am.

My last Indigo package finally arrived, and I'm hoping today's weather will be kinder than yesterday's bitter wind.

If you're coming down with a cold, it's probably a good thing that Jenufa isn't overly hummable. If you tried humming opera music with snuffly sinuses....

I tremble even to CONTEMPLATE what the results might be. *shudder*

The second opera was much more hummable, and I was more sick for the second one. I went through lots of cough drops and happily those helped keep me from coughing or sniffling much during the scenes. Humming quietly is alot less painful than talking at the moment - not that talking is all that painful, but I do have a mild sore throat. If only I could effectively communicate by humming - well, it would be a happy and fun thing, really.

Sore throats should only happen to mean people.

Sending you the electronic equivalent of chicken soup!
