quirky hotels run by german speaking folks

my favourite is the one about the station where a few german place names add to the rhyming fun. i'm reminded of my travels to brixen, a village geographically located in northern italy but really inhabited and run by german-speaking austrian patriots. on two separate visits there, i stayed at the oh-so-charming hotel senoner. i also discovered the most amazing poppy seed pastries at a local bakery. one day, i will decipher the recipe!
