Once, the United States Postal Service used the railway to send mail across the country. Its last train rain in 1977.

Now, ships have gone the way of the railway for USPS's transportation uses. As of Monday, along with the first class rate change, the USPS no longer offers shipping as a way of sending packages.

It's the end of another era.

And the box I mailed yesterday is going to arrive a whole lot faster than it needs to.
