The crowds were thinner and the sandwiches worse on Monday, but there were good things too. I obtained my thirteenth autograph on the Nova Scotia anthology launched on Wednesday (out of 22 possible autographs). I fell in like with a second cute little stuffed dragon "Mythling". I bought fluffy, inexpensive reading material for the train and attended a lively discussion on ways of keeping costuming alive and well in the UK. And I said goodbye.

I spent most of the convention evenings with my opening ceremony friends. The southwesterly ones (including [livejournal.com profile] stormwindz) were southbound on Monday morning, but the other two stayed until Tuesday, so we could briefly meet up one last time. (We might well all be reunioning come Eastercon.) I ran into [livejournal.com profile] mm_fijiagh one last time, and [livejournal.com profile] fjm, just long enough for a few more introductions to other UK fans.

The train back felt just as fast as the one going up, despite it lasting the best part of six hours. On the way up, I read the whole time. Going in the other direction, I napped a bit, spent several hours talking to an engaging elderly couple from Hull. I then discovered that one of my fluffy pieces of reading was really rather dull, but read it anyways. Although my train dinner was really quite good - thank you, Tesco - I don't want any more sandwiches in my diet for a long time. I've been pining away for decent food all week.
